Miss Sophie Peers
Welcome to Year 4 – a year packed with curiosity, challenge and adventure!
In Year 4, we aim to inspire a love of learning while helping children grow in confidence, independence and resilience. Our curriculum is rich, engaging and carefully designed to build key knowledge and skills across all subjects.
This year, our learning will take us on some exciting journeys. In Geography, pupils will explore the wonders of rainforests and rivers, discovering how these environments shape our world. In History, we’ll step back in time to learn about the Anglo-Saxons and uncover the fascinating civilisation of the Mayans, comparing life then and now.
A strong focus in Mathematics will be developing secure number knowledge, particularly multiplication skills. Quick recall and confidence with times tables are essential as children prepare for the statutory National Multiplication Check, which takes place in June. We will support pupils through regular practice, fun activities and plenty of encouragement.
Year 4 also offers memorable experiences beyond the classroom. We are excited about our visits and adventure day, which will help build independence, teamwork and lifelong memories.
We look forward to a fantastic year of learning, discovery and growth in Year 4!
