September 2019 Welcome letter
We would like to welcome to all our new children and families to Deanshanger Primary School Foundation Stage. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
The first part of the term will be used to get to know your children and settle them into the routines of school life. We will take account of your children’s interests when planning our future topics, using our observations, and the contents of your child’s ‘Chatter Bags’. We have a ‘Wishing Well’, which sits out the front of the Foundation Stage entrance gates. Please write down any interests your child has developed on a note and post it in the ‘Wishing Well.’ We will then incorporate these interests in our future planning. Alternatively, upload home observations on Tapestry. An update of specific themes and the EYFS Curriculum will be sent out in our termly newsletters.
Our Forest School mornings will start in the week beginning 9th September – more information to follow. For the first few weeks, the children will be learning about London and Paris. Should your child wish to bring in something related to these Capital cities they are more than welcome to do so.
Please remember to order your child’s lunch for the following week by Tuesday 10th September at midnight.
We hope you enjoy your ‘First day of school bags!’ Enjoy a hot cup of coffee, biscuit and wipe away the tears of joy as your child starts school! We have also included our contact details should you need them. Rest assured that we will contact you if we have any concerns, so please make sure you have returned your data form to the office ASAP.
