Dear Families,

Welcome Back! We hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday! We are so excited to be teaching all your fantastic children this year. We have a really enjoyable, learning-filled year ahead!

Timetable:

  • Swimming is on a Monday (until Christmas). Please reference the swimming letter for all the information.
  • Outdoor PE is on a Tuesday.

Please be reminded that your child must wear the correct PE kit to school: Red/white t-shirt, black/red hoodie, black shorts or jogging bottoms and trainers. Branded items should be kept minimal.

  • Forest School is on a Thursday.

Please ensure forest school kit and wellies are in school. This kit is also used by the children at break and lunchtime if it is muddy and they are on the field. If children do not have full kit, they will not be able to attend Forest School. Please ensure it is also named.

  • Reading diaries are checked weekly by teachers. Please ensure reading is recorded.

Topics:

  • Science: Mixtures and Separations
  • History: What was life like in Tudor England?
  • Geography: Why do oceans matter?

Homework:

  • Spelling Shed challenge set weekly on a Thursday. Your child’s log-in information is in their diary.
  • Please continue to practice times tables at home. It is vitally important by now that children know all of their times tables (and division equivalents) and continue to reinforce their understanding.
  • We expect every child to be reading at home at least 5 times a week.

Class Dojo:

  • We endeavour to post at least once a week on Class Dojo.
  • You can also continue to see all the Dojo points your child has been awarded (and what for) by looking at reports.

Communication:

  • Please speak to us in the morning or at the end of the day if there is anything that needs sharing with us.
  • If you wish to contact us electronically then please do so via the school office.

We look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

Many thanks,

Mr Taylor and Mrs Burdett
