Posting our letters to Australia

On Tuesday 28th January, four of our students went off to post our letters to Australia for DPS.

It is important that our children are aware of school local and world events and we have focused on the tragic events in Australia as part of whole school assemblies and class work. The children have been really committed to supporting, albeit in a relatively small way, by choosing an audience for a letter, and then writing their thoughts unaided. The final letters were displayed and sent to fire fighters, WWF, Red Cross Australia, Schools, Greta Thunberg and Sir David Attenborough.

We have also built a special display in our school to think about Australia. Although Australia is about 10,000 miles away from us, we wanted to them know how much we care.
