Dear Parents and Carers,

With half-term fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to update you on some of the wonderful events that have taken place this term, as well as share some key information about school communication and leadership.

 School Communication and Leadership

With recent changes in leadership, we want to ensure that you have clear procedures for contacting the school. All communication should go through the school office and be marked FAO (For the Attention Of) followed by the staff member’s name.

If you have any concerns about your child’s learning, please speak to their class teacher in the first instance. I am happy to be copied into emails where necessary.

For any safeguarding concerns, our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

  • Miss Morris
  • Miss Forward
  • Mrs Mildren
  • Mrs Bailey

The lead teacher in the school are:

  • Mrs Watson (EYFS)
  • Mrs Peers
  • Miss Forward

However, all staff are happy to help if you need support.

Welcome to Mrs Burnside

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Burnside to the team at Deanshanger. She will be working part-time across Deanshanger and Old Stratford. Her email is now active, and she is receiving messages. Over the coming weeks, we will be reviewing files and inviting parents to meetings to meet Mrs Burnside and discuss any relevant matters.

Celebrating Learning

Invention Convention

A huge well done to all the children that took part in the Invention Convention this year! We saw some incredible ideas, with a strong theme of sustainability, showing how much our young people care about the future of our planet. A small group of children were then selected to share their inventions at a Trust-wide event, where they also took part in some fantastic STEM activities. A special thank you to Mrs Burdett for organising and coordinating this fantastic opportunity.

M & M Productions

Pantomime Fun

The children had an amazing time when M & M Productions visited Deanshanger to perform their pantomime. There was plenty of audience participation, and lots of fun was had by all! A big thank you to the PTA for funding this brilliant experience – the children absolutely loved it!

Year 5 Young Voices Trip

Some of the Year 5 children had a fantastic experience travelling to Birmingham to take part in Young Voices. They joined hundreds of other school children in an incredible singing event, performing songs they had been practicing in the lead-up to the big day. It was a late night, but excitement and enjoyment made it all worthwhile! Thank you to all the staff who accompanied the children on this trip.

Class Assemblies

We have now begun our class assembly schedule, with Mr Bass’s Year 4 class kicking things off. The children did a fantastic job showcasing all they have been learning, and we really appreciated friends and families who came to watch and support them. Well done Year4!
