Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a busy and productive few weeks here at school, and I am delighted to see how hard the children have been working. As we approach the Christmas period, I wanted to share some of the wonderful achievements and the key events happening over the next few weeks. All dates are available on the website calendar for your convenience.

Celebrating Success

Before we dive into what's to come, let's take a moment to celebrate some recent achievements.

Just before half term, we held our Sunflower Assembly, a special event where children from across the school were nominated by their teachers for a Sunflower Award. This was my first experience of this wonderful tradition, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the teachers talk about the exceptional qualities of each deserving recipient. It was heartwarming to see so many parents joining us in school for this occasion, and I hope we can continue this tradition for many years to come.

PTA Festive Activities

The PTA has been busy organising some exciting events to add to the festive cheer. On Friday, the 29th of November, we will be holding a mufti day. Instead of a monetary donation, the PTA is asking for contributions such as bottles of wine, soft drinks, bubble baths, or similar items. Thank you in advance for your generosity-it is always appreciated!

The PTA will also be drawing the winners for their Christmas raffle on Thursday 12th December, straight after school. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the PTA for all their hard work. They work tirelessly to raise funds for the school and make sure the children have many wonderful activities to look forward to

Staffing Update

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Willoughby to the Deanshangar team. She will be working alongside Mr Pennington, enabling him to take on additional responsibilities on the operational side of running the school. Please join me in giving Mrs Willoughby a warm welcome to our community.

Final Thoughts

Christmas is always a special time of year, and we look forward to sharing the joy of the season with our entire school community. Whether through concerts, assemblies, or festive activities, these moments remind us of the strength and warmth of our school family.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming events.

Kind Regards

Miss Morris
