Sunflower Award
at Deanshanger Primary School

In memory of Mrs Annette Robson

Annette was a very special lady and a highly valued member of staff. She is sorely missed at Deanshanger Primary School.

As the sunflower was her favourite flower, we had created a termly Sunflower Award to recognise and celebrate children that show the attributes that she showed daily - kindness, caring, positivity, strength and loyalty.

Reception Award - Theo

I am thrilled to announce that this term the Sunflower Award goes to none other than Theo Temple. Theo has not only made a significant impact within our class but also throughout our entire school community. His infectious energy and radiant smile light up our classroom each day as he bounds through the door with enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

One of Theo’s most remarkable qualities is his boundless curiosity and creativity. He approaches every task with a sense of wonder and excitement, eager to explore and discover new things. His imagination knows no bounds, as he regales us with tales of daring adventures and fantastical worlds Whether it’s spinning yarns about dinosaurs or imagining himself as a brave explorer charting uncharted territories, Theo’s stories never fail to captivate and inspire us all.

He always ready to learn and offer words of encouragement. His positivity is contagious, spreading warmth and happiness wherever he goes.

In addition to his admirable character traits, Theo exhibits remarkable strength and resilience in the face of challenges. He approaches every task with determination and perseverance, inspiring his classmates do the same.

Theo, you are a shining example to us all. Your unwavering dedication, positivity, strength, have not gone unnoticed. You have enriched our classroom and school community in countless ways, and for that, we are immensely grateful.

Congratulations, Theo, on receiving the Sunflower Award. May your light continue to shine bright, illuminating the path for others to follow. Keep being the incredible young boy and know that you have made a lasting impact on us all.

Year 6 Award - Logan

Logan immediately made a great impression in Year 6. Polite, fair and willing to accept responsibility, his qualities made him an ideal role model for younger people.

When he hears about his nomination for the Sunflower Award, he will be surprised and characteristically humble. He never seeks praise or puts himself in the spotlight. And yet, when I think of his face on the Sunflower Award display, he is an undoubtedly fitting choice.

I was talking with a member of staff about Logan when we were deciding on who should be this term’s recipient, and I found myself realising that, if I was in Year 6 as a pupil right now (I wish!) then I would hope to have Logan as a friend. One of the qualities represented by the award is loyalty. Logan is a loyal friend without exception.

In the short time I was privileged to know Mrs. Robinson, I was able to see many qualities in her that Logan also possesses. I have a feeling that, were she able to communicate with us, Logan would certainly get a smile and thumbs-up!
