We'd like to welcome you to read the latest edition of our newsletter!! As you will read it has been a very busy time.

We'd like to thank those of you who attended Parents' Evening this week. Your support is very much appreciated and welcomed. If you missed your appointment or still need to meet with your child's class teacher, please make contact and we will arrange a meeting. You should receive your child's report which outlines their strengths and areas to work on in the next few days. We very much appreciate your support with this.

We very much enjoyed Year 3 Clifford class assembly. There are more celebration assemblies to follow after the Easter break. Keep an eye on the Home School Diary and the calendar on the school website for further details.

Personalised Good Luck in Your NEW JOB Card Best Wishes We'll Miss You Leaving | eBay

We will be very sad to see Miss Claire Cookson leave us next week as a Year 3 class teacher. Claire has been teaching at DPS since 2016 and has made a significant impact on school life in that time both as a passionate and inspiring class teacher and the art lead within the school.

Claire is taking a completely new career path, and we wish her all the very best in this exciting new venture. Although sorely missed, we are delighted that she is following her heart.  She will be on the open road shortly :-)

Mr. Theo Ward will be teaching Year 3 Clifford class as we return on Monday 17th April.

Bounce Back - EP by Rocksteady Music School on Apple Music

We welcomed parents, carers, family, friends, teachers, governors and students to our RockSteady concert on Tuesday. Paul was back, with his energetic style, to present a fantastic show. All the bands were extremely talented and displayed immense courage. The music was entertaining and gave us all a fun and very exciting start to the day.

Teacher Training | The Play Therapies Centre

Please be reminded that we have a staff training day next Friday i.e., Friday 31st March. We will be focusing on curriculum planning and in particular, retrieval. For our current retrieval practice, please see the following page on the school webs site - Click here

We are delighted to have the Head of the International Primary Curriculum ( IPC)  join us for part of the day.

The last day of term for your children is Thursday 30th March.  School resumes on Monday 17th April.

Although we have the pleasure of working with Neville a little longer, Mrs. Bryan will be joining us after the Easter break and starting in the Reception Elmer class. Mrs. Neville will be in school to help with the transition, she will also be supporting across the school for a further two weeks before leaving us for a new opportunity working with Northamptonshire Children's Trust.

Hello and welcome to you all. My name is Mrs. Bryan and I will be the class teacher in Elmer class after Easter. I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the team at Deanshanger Primary School.

I have been a Key Stage 1 Leader and an Assistant Principal in my previous settings and have lots of experience in the lower years of primary schools.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with family and friends, going to the gym and walking my dog Hector.

KEEP CALM AND RUN CROSS COUNTRY Poster | Matthew | Keep Calm-o-Matic

This week, our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 children took part in a Northamptonshire Sport cross country event with John Hellins Primary School. The children were great representatives of DPS. They showed amazing resilience and gave it their absolute best effort! Most, if not all were very tired and aching by the end!

Special mentions to:

Ava and Jo for finishing 1st

Brandon and Bella for finishing 2nd

Euan, Grace, Emile, Scarlett and Isabella for finishing 3rd

On Friday 17th March we hosted our annual Mother's Day celebration. This was our first gathering in the hall for several years due to COVID restrictions. Mums, grandmas and family relatives were invited to school to enjoy a delicious home-cooked fish lunch prepared by our Freshstart team. Many of you were able to join us and have since shared how much you enjoyed this occasion. Every £1.50 of the meal prepared, went towards our collection for Red Nose Day.

Friday 17th  March was also 'Red Nose Day'. Collectively we raised approximately £1,000 for the charity by selling the red noses, collecting change on the gate and the donations from the delicious lunch. This is an amazing amount especially in these challenging times! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile charity. We are sure that our donations will make a difference to the lives of others. Thank you!
