Sunflower Award
at Deanshanger Primary School

In memory of Mrs Annette Robson

Annette was a very special lady and a highly valued member of staff. She is sorely missed at Deanshanger Primary School.

As the sunflower was her favourite flower, we had created a termly Sunflower Award to recognise and celebrate children that show the attributes that she showed daily - kindness, caring, positivity, strength and loyalty.

Reception Award - Amelie

What can I say about Amelie?  Well, I believe that she is the epitome of the Sunflower Award.  She reflects great warmth into the classroom each and every day with her smile and friendly nature.  She faces into challenges, leaning into them knowing that she has the resilience to bounce back and the support of her peers and adults around her as her stake.  Amelie has grown, speedily, at every opportunity presented to her in her learning through the whole curriculum and encourages others constantly, every step of the way.

For these reasons, I believe, Amelie deserves the recognition of being presented the Sunflower Award.

Year 1 Award - Franky

Frankly has been given the award because if I could give him star of the week every week, I would!

He consistently strives to learn and even when he finds things tricky, he always gives 110% in everything he does; he shows great resilience.

He is so kind and thoughtful. He is always a good friend to everyone. He never makes the wrong choices and always follows our school values. I see so many qualities of Mrs Robson in Franky and this is why he deserves this award.

Sophie has been chosen for the sunflower  award because she has shown great kindness and empathy. Sophie always puts others before herself and can be seen in class and at lunchtime helping others.  If she sees that someone is upset, she always wants to help them and makes sure they are OK.
