Welcome to our first ever Deanshanger Student School Council newsletter.

Here you will find some fun and exciting news updates from in and around our primary school, brought to your from the children, for the children!

We have a brand-new team this year who have a whole load of ideas to take us through the year, so watch this space!

If you have any questions or want to add anything to our newsletter, you can contact your year group representative or any of the other reps and they will feed back at our weekly meetings. Here are their smiley faces if you don’t know what they look like!

Year 1

This year we have had some new teachers join our school. You may know their names, but you may not know what they look like. So let us introduce you properly!

Miss Forward has joined us in Year 1. She has a pet dog called Peggy and loves to dress her in funny outfits!

Miss Forward is really fun and the children in Year 1 already really enjoy being with her!

Year 2

Mrs Burdette has joined Year 2. She also has a pet dog called Evie!

The children in Year 2 have told me that Mrs Burdette is really cool, and they love having her as their teacher!

Year 5

Mr Taylor & Mr Rowantree has joined Year 5, and the children have said he is ‘great fun’. Mr Taylor has a pet snake which he sometimes brings to school, but has been told to keep away from Miss Brooks’ classroom!.

We would also like to thank Mr Rowantree for joining the DPS team. He is a computer whizz and has been wowing us with his 3D printers and love of Marvel.

Joshua-Jay in Rockhopper Penguin class, Munawwar in Wren class and Noor in Snowy owl class.

MR GREGORY!!!!!!

Mr Gregory has won the award because we are so grateful for all the sporting events he arranges for us and all the hard work he puts into sorting all the PE equipment out.

Mr Gregory is our PE Superhero!!!!
